Mentor Coaching

Where are you currently in your journey as a coach?

  • You may be applying for the ACC as your first ICF accreditation!

  • Perhaps it’s time to renew your coaching credential and you’re looking for personalized learning.

  • You may be ready to take the next step toward the PCC or MCC level!

  • Or perhaps you feel it’s time to strengthen and expand your coaching skills.

  • What would it be like to cultivate a deeper awareness of your “inner coach,” strengthen and expand your abilities, and develop your own unique style as a coach?

The ICF defines Mentor Coaching for credentialing as a collaborative, appreciative, and dialogue-based process of coaching and feedback, grounded in the observation or recording of a coaching session, with the goal of increasing the coach’s capability in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies.

Mentoring provides professional support to help coaches achieve and demonstrate the levels of competence and capability required for their desired credential level. It must take place over an extended period of time (a minimum of three months), within a cycle that allows for listening and feedback from the Mentor Coach, as well as reflection and practice from the mentee.

As your mentor coach, my goal is to create a space and an optimal learning environment where you can explore your coaching from different perspectives, evolve in your practice, and demonstrate excellence, confidence, competence, and your own unique expression as a coach.

We will talk about where you are in your journey as a coach and identify your strengths, as well as your areas for growth and development, in order to design an overall agreement and create your own development plan.

Together, we will agree on how to work collaboratively and how to tailor our process to your specific preferences, your inner world, and the way you learn and create change. We will also define the frequency of sessions and how we will manage your recordings, allowing enough time for both of us to prepare effectively.

As part of the process, there will be moments when we work from a more evaluative perspective, considering whether certain elements occurred in a session, at what point, and in what way. At other times, we will explore your motivation and thought processes as you reflect on how you responded to what your client shared and the decisions you made during your sessions.

The mentor coaching process with me will create opportunities for self-reflection and continuous learning. It will encourage your self-awareness as a coach, support the ongoing refinement of your skills, and help you expand your perceptual capacity and the range of options available to you in your client sessions.

You will also have space to reflect on how your work impacts both you and your clients, and how it may express your unique embodiment of the core competencies, your personal coaching style, and your professional purpose or “north star.”
